Perfumer, Sommelier, Activist and Clairvoyant Yosh Han is in the Perfume Room today. Yosh has been at the forefront of decolonizing scent and her activism has led to major change in the industry; across the world, major stakeholders are officially re-classifying the o-word to amber (or ambré). We discuss why this change is necessary, the progress thus far, as well as how you (yes YOU!) can get involved. CUSTOM SCENT
For a truly unique experience, virtually, or in-person, a signature scent can be created for yourself, a loved one or even your brand. * Each session starts with a consultation to understand what intention you might have to create this scent. Day scents for office are a different vibe than an evening date night fragrance or if the aroma is meant to evoke tranquility for meditation or chill by the pool atmosphere. Every fragrance will have top, middle and base notes – accords and bridge notes can also be expected. Every scent can have a varying number of notes – some scents are minimal and others, more robust. VINTAGE OMNISCENT EDP
We unearthed a small box of these cult favorites. Once they’re gone, they’re really really gone. Omniscent is a contemorary amber fragrance. Pink pepper gives this classic scent a light, ethereal quality, yet it’s also spicy and robust. Both men and women who wear this fragrance comment on its magnetic quality. Prepare to be utterly irresistible. Ingredients: Gardenia, Egyptian Tuberose, Fig, Lilac, Violet, Kush, Tunisian Opium, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Basil, Aloe, Geranium, Pink Pepper.
WHITE FLOWERS EDP Original eau de parfum.
PERFUMER’S NOTES: White Flowers is a complex floral fragrance with a green finish. People often ask me what that means. It means that there are many white flowers in this fragrance but, unlike other floral fragrances, this perfume does not linger nor become sweet or cloying. Instead, it has a green finish, which is like a wine with a dry finish. When you smell this fragrance, you notice how complex the floral notes are and then notice that fresh finish.
The fresh finish comes from the pettitgrain and Siberian fir, which give this fragrance the feeling of an immense bouquet of freshly picked flowers. My mother is a master of Ikebana, the art of Japanese flower arrangement. She would often talk about the balance in a composition, which isn’t just about the bloom of the flower but also the relationship of the flower to the stems and leaves, the vessel and space.
This is the idea I used to compose White Flowers. I originally created this scent to honor the white flowers in a wedding bouquet, but it has become much more than that. When you wear this fragrance, you might feel transported outdoors. There’s a natural aromaticquality to it that smells great on men. You might think it would be too floral, but, on men, the green notes come forward and the floral notes fall back. It’s wonderfully fresh, but also complex and sophisticated. I fall in love with this fragrance over and over again because it never fails to surprise me.
VINTAGE SAMPLER
These are fragrances from the Eau de Parfum collection. The full size bottles are sold out except for U4EAHH. We have about 50 bottles left. U4EAHH is a summery bright pear, pomegranate, waterlily and cucumber scent. Ginger Ciao is a voluptuous tropical floral scent with ginger, sandalwood, coconut, ylang ylang and night blooming jasmine. Sombre Negra, aka Black Shadow, is a smoky, earthy and edgy scent. Konig is a forest scent that opens with bright apples but dries down to a soft leather scent.

We are sold out of full size bottles of this cult favorite. We discovered a box of original Sombre Negra moustaches! They are sold in packets of 10 x 1 ml each. Vetiver, patchouli, cedar, olibanum, pink pepperberry and black peppercorn, clove, juniper, citrus, nutmeg, cumin, tonka and orris root Photo 1 is the actual mustaches. Photo 2 is the back side. Photo 3 is the full size for reference only. Unfortunately, the fragrance house we worked with to create this scent was sold to a large global conglomerate. One of our key ingredients is no longer manufactured so we could not reproduce this. sadly. But we LOVE our new Sombre Negra, eau fraiche version.
