The Vanguard System had its origins in 1977 when David L. Daugherty founded Agri Motive Products, Inc. for the purposes of manufacturing and marketing specialty electronic products for the agricultural marketplace.
On January 1, 2003 Agri Motive Products, Inc. and Daugherty, Inc. were consolidated into The Daugherty Companies, Inc.
Mr. Daugherty became associated with the DICKEY-john Corporation in 1968 as a sales representative for Indiana and Kentucky.
Through a continuing relationship with DICKEY-john and Agri Motive Products, he has nearly fifty years’ experience with agricultural monitors and electronic equipment and ranks as one of the most experienced people in the industry.
In 1992, Agri Motive Products introduced the first Grain Drill Monitoring System on the market.
Since that time, the company has continued to be a leader in the design and development of monitors and other ag related products.
The current VM-5000 series monitors feature the latest in color touch screen technology and not only monitor seed, but liquid flow as well.
In addition to the monitor line, the company provides a full line of electronic monitor accessories and repair parts.
The company builds a variety of wiring harness for OEM customers and offers design and manufacturing capabilities for specialty electronics.
