What is Propylene Glycol and does ProSmoke contain it?

Multiple liquid types, including PG and VG, are used successfully in the industry with absolutely no issues to date. Thorough FDA and Independent testing have not been performed on the inhalation safety of Propylene glycol (or VG).

The use of PG does have limited reports of negative side effects. These are typically allergic reactions to PG and can include nausea, discomfort, and dizziness.

This has unnecessarily caused an increased concern for all e-cigarette ingredients, especially PG. Industry reviews indicate a higher frequency of adverse reactions to PG when compared to VG, however, the majority of users experience no negative effects whatsoever.

You should always consult your physician if you have any concerns or questions about using any electronic cigarette or nicotine products.

Some of our products, such as the disposable electronic cigarettes, automatically contain small amounts of PG in the flavorings in order to extend the shelf life of products in the retail environment.

ProSmoke does not use Propylene Glycol as the main base of any of our products. We use Vegetable Glycerin as a substitute for Propylene Glycol base, which we consider to be a better product while continuing to give superior performance, flavor and vapor production.

Although some specific products might contain some PG in the flavoring naturally, the base will always be Vegetable Liquid. Hundreds and hundreds of hours of research have gone into making the ProSmoke solution the best on the market!

In comparison to PG base, a VG base produces more vapor and does not irritate your throat while still giving you a great smooth “throat hit”.

As both VG, PG and other e-liquid variants continue to undergo more thorough testing, ProSmoke will always be in forefront of the market and choosing what we feel is the best solution for our customers. Although both are currently used as the liquid base for e-cigarettes successfully in our industry, including in some of our flavorings, when given a choice between the PG chemical compound base and our vegetable based liquid, customers overwhelmingly choose ProSmoke!

My e-cigarette battery is blinking. What does this mean?

Your ProSmoke batteries will blink or flash under multiple scenarios.

If your e-cigarette blinks during usage about 2 to 5 times, this is the safety mechanism activating and letting you know that you have been overusing the e cigarette and should stop using for 1-2 minutes or as needed. This is a safety mechanism to prevent the unit from overheating and usually only engaged if you are inhaling much longer than needed on your e-cigarette; typically over 5 to 7 seconds.

This DOES NOT mean your battery needs to be charged.

If you battery blinks blinks more than 5 times, this indicates it needs to be recharged. This will happen immediately upon any usage or inhalation and indicates it is time to recharge your battery.

When screwing in your battery to charge it, the LED will also blink to indicate the charging process is starting. Depending on your battery, the LED will either stay lit during the charging process or turn off after blinking; Both are normal.

Can Vaping Set Off Smoke Detectors?

Technically, yes vapor from electronic cigarettes and vaporizers could set off the smoke detectors. This also depends on the type of fire alarm.

Heat detectors pose the fewest problems for vapors. They are the oldest and the least commonly used type of automatic fire detection device.

Heat detectors feature a detecting element inside the unit that activates when it reaches a predetermined fixed temperature or when a specific increase in temperature has occurred.

An ionization smoke alarm contains a small amount of radioactive material. The radiation passes through an ionization chamber which is an air-filled space between two electrodes and permits a small, constant current between the electrodes.

Any smoke that enters the chamber absorbs the alpha particles, which reduces the ionization and interrupts this current, setting off the alarm. With e-cigs producing vapor and not smoke which are different type of particles, they shouldn’t often set off ionization-based detectors, but they have been known to.

The most common and the most likely to be triggered by an e-cigarette are photoelectric detectors as they use optical light beams to detect smoke in their vicinity. If there’s enough smoke surrounding the detector, the light beam is broken, and the alarm is triggered.

There’s less risk of this happening with vapor than there is with smoke, but it’s still possible.

The vapor from e-cigs does set off smoke detectors, but only when exhaling or blowing the vapor towards the smoke detector at close proximity. It’s not much different than smoking a cigarette in that regard.

Vapor is less likely to set off a smoke alarm though, because unlike smoke, vapor dissipates much faster.

Are the nicotine level of e-cigarettes the same as traditional cigarettes?

This is a question that can have multiple answers. For much more detail, check out this article about how nicotine levels in e-cigs compare to traditional cigarettes.

Ultimately, the answer to the question of which cartridge strength to purchase depends on how you plan to smoke your electronic cigarette.

Did you know E-cigarette companies descriptors for nicotine levels are being renamed? Similar to traditional cigarettes or tobacco, the FDA is requiring companies to transition labeling to include the full nicotine content to describe each nicotine level option in their cartridges or e-liquid. Levels like low, light, medium, high and so on are now transitioning to nicotine content in mg or percentage by quantity.

During this transition period, please note that nicotine content titles like low, medium, etc. never indicate anything other than nicotine content in each cartridge and make no claims related to health, experience, or risk of using the product.

How long do atomizers last and when should I replace it?

Depending on your smoking style and e-cigarette care and maintenance, your atomizer will last up to 75,000 to 150,000 puffs. That is over twice as long as our nearest competitor! Regular maintenance and upkeep can keep your atomizer going for months and months with heavy usage.

Two Piece designs don’t last and cost too much. Using a disposable cartomizer will never give the performance of the 3 piece design. It’s like comparing a disposable camera to a professional one; you only use it if there is no other option because the professional will ALWAYS outperform the disposable! Get ready for long atomizer life and incredible performance with ProSmoke!

If you experience little or no vapor when using, ensure that your battery is fully charged and properly attached to the product and that the cartridge is firmly inserted in the end of the product. When the vapor volume is reduced below a satisfactory level, its typically time to replace your cartridge, not the atomizer!

Troubleshooting Steps to resolve common e-cigarette and vaporizer problems

If you are experiencing performance issues with your electronic cigarette, here is a list of standard troubleshooting steps to resolve the most common issues. ProSmoke tests every single peice of equipment that is ordered prior to shipping to the customer and due to our stringent process, we have less than a 1% defective rate.

Typically most issues are due to improper usage or something simple.

Please ensure you have thoroughly read the users manual before getting started and check these troubleshooting steps if you are still having issues.

TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS

• 1. Please replace the blank cartridge the unit that it is shipped with and installed a new cartridge from the package.
• 2. Please fully charge both batteries, as instructed in the manual (An 8 hour initial charge is required to fully prime both batteries; Subsequent charges only take an hour or so).
• 3. Check the unit for obstruction in the atomizer such as pocket lint or particles that might cause a drop in performance. Please ensure the plastic cork is removed from the cartridge before placing onto the atomizer.
• 4. Rotate the new cartridge after it is placed on the atomizer, this can ensure it is getting good contact.. Like any e-cig manufacturer, we do not recommend taking it off until the cartridge is fully used since the wick that holds the solution can dislodge if removed too early. If you still need to remove it, please do so carefully so it does not ruin the cartridge.
• 5. Please ensure the cartridge is properly contacting the atomizer. To do this, you can find a paper-clip and gently place the end into the inhalation hole (The small one) and very gently press and move the internal reservoir forward slightly (1 mm or barely at all). Since our cartridges our such high capacity, some users have inadvertently pressed the cartridge contents back when troubleshooting their unit. Please ensure you do this gently and only slightly forward. Once the contents make contact with the atomizer, you will not have to do this again.
• 6. Please ensure you have tried more than one cartridge on your e-cigarette. Although it is very rare to see an under-filled or dry cartridge, opening and trying a second cartridge will ensure it is not the cartridge causing performance issues.
• 7. Please make sure there is no obstruction on the battery connection that might cause it to not have full contact.
• 8. Lightly tap the LED end of the battery on a desk to dislodge anything that could be obstructing it the connection.
• 9. If this still has not resolved it, and only if necessary, disassemble the unit completely (unscrew battery and atomizer and remove the cartridge from the atomizer). Then run your atomizer under lukewarm water and give it a brisk blow to dislodge any obstruction and let air dry completely (This can take up to 4 hours to dry).

Sometimes during cartridge changes, you can unintentionally get some blockage in the atomizer. This typically solves most performance issues with the atomizer and can also be done to rinse previous flavors off the atomizer.

How does the nicotine content in electronic cigarettes compare to regular cigarettes?

ProSmoke electronic cigarettes are available with cartridges with differing amounts of nicotine. When first starting on electronic cigarettes, many users wonder what level of nicotine they should opt for with their cartridges.

The answer to that question varies depending on how much you currently smoke tobacco cigarettes. Also, it should be noted that electronic cigarettes cartridges are designed to last the equivalent of multiple cigarettes and are not meant to be smoked completely in one sitting.

Nicotine content of a tobacco cigarette

Traditional tobacco cigarettes have varying nicotine contents depending on the brand. Nicotine contents of tobacco cigarettes have trended down over the past 30 years from an average of 1.35 mg per cigarette in 1968 to an average of 0.90 mg per cigarette in 1994.

Per brand breakdowns are as follows and are based on a study done by the United States Federal Trade Commission on1206 varieties of domestic cigarettes between the years 1994 and 1997:
